Do you wonder how studying Chinese can benefit your career prospects and how learning about China can translate into professional expertise? What is it like to work at the intersection of government, trade, and diplomacy? How do US-China relations impact the global business community? 

Join the EALC and Chinese Language Departments for a conversation with Patrick Beyrer C'21 G'21, an EALC graduate and international trade consultant based in Washington, DC. Patrick will share his perspectives as a young professional focusing on US-China trade relations, detail reflections from his time studying in China, and answer student questions on how studying Chinese at Penn has enriched his career. Patrick is an Associate at the China Practice of McLarty Associates, a commercial diplomacy and global strategy firm. In his role, Patrick assists Fortune 200 companies evaluate geopolitical and trade dynamics within the US-China relationship. He is also a Non-resident Research Associate with the think tank the Asia Society Policy Institute's Center for China Analysis, where he studies China's emerging technology and public health governance models.
