Acclaimed Director Hayao Miyazaki’s final film, The Wind Rises is based loosely on the life of Jiro Horikoshi. Young Horikoshi is in love with flight, but cursed with poor eyesight, making his dream of becoming a pilot impossible. Undeterred, he pursues a career designing aircraft, but finds his love challenged as his creations find new purpose in World War II.
