From Manuscript to Manga: Ainu Representation in Media
This exhibit reflects on the cultural representation of the Ainu, the Indigenous peoples traditionally connected to the northern islands of Japan and parts of Russia. Jan. 31 - May 19, 2025. Leadership Education for Asian Pacifics (LEAP) Emerge Fellowship Program
Designed to empower college students with tangible leadership skills, introductions to a diverse range of industries, personalized mentorship, and individualized support preparing them for post-graduate careers. Fellows recieve a $5,000 stipend over one academic year, along with certificates from accredited programs to develop and refine their professional skills. Applications due Apr. 11, 2025. THEA 428: Japanese Acting: Kabuki. The University of Hawaii Summer Kabuki Training Institute will offer intensive Kabuki movement and vocal training, with professional kabuki actor, Ichikawa Monnosuke. Aug. 1- Aug. 18, 2025, University of Hawaii at Manoa. See here for more information.
