Born in Nagoya, Japan. Nishikawa’s film explores the idea of documenting a scene in the public space through a chosen medium/format, often focusing on the filmmaking process. His work has been screened at film festivals worldwide, including Berlinale, Hong Kong International Film Festival, International Film Festival Rotterdam, New York Film Festival, Singapore International Film Festival, Toronto International Film Festival, and Yebisu International Festival for Art & Alternative Visions in Tokyo. Nishikawa is a recipient of the Fellowship for Emerging Artists Studying Overseas from the Agency for Cultural Affairs of Japan and the Asian Public Intellectual Fellowship from the Nippon Foundation. He currently teaches in the Cinema Department at Binghamton University.

The program consists of 6 short films that show the manipulation of film at a site-specific location. The manipulation is often made during the production stage, by a variety of filmmaking techniques, and frequently highlights the site's history, political events, and ecology, as well as its connection to the personal.

In between every 1 or 2 films, we'll have a short Q & A and Tomo will introduce the next film, so it will be very collaborative and a more dynamic presentation.
