Wayne Patterson, professor of history, has been a member of the faculty since 1977, specializing in the history of East Asia. His undergraduate degree in History is from Swarthmore College. He holds two masters degrees–one in History and one in International Relations–both from the University of Pennsylvania.
His Ph.D., also from the University of Pennsylvania, is in International Relations, with a concentration in modern East Asian history. Additionally, he has lived, taught or attended universities in Taiwan, Japan and Korea.
