This year CEAS and Penn Museum are co-sponsoring the Freedom Crossing Institute Film Festival, which will have an in-person component on Saturday, November 23rd, at Penn Museum! That day will include 8 films playing at two venues, with three accompanying workshops. 

The online portion begins on Friday November 22nd, and will feature more films on Vimeo and online workshops titled Crossing War & Peace and Crossing Temples & Prisons. See the Freedom Crossing website for full details.

The event will be ticketed, with reduced rates for Penn Museum members and Penn students. 

Films for this first Crossing War & Peace component will include: 

Hung Chun-Hsiu's 2022 documentary on residents of Kinmen Island in Remember Me 金門留念
Lau Kek-Huat's 2021 film about witnesses, survivors, and descendants of Japanese colonial rule in Taste of Wild Tomato 野番茄
Khan Lee's 2019 documentary of Taiwan's first pilot, Hsieh Wen-ta called In Search of 1920 尋找1920

The above films will be presented online, with English subtitles.
