Eugene Park wins F. Hilary Conrad Award for Upcoming AAS Panel

CEAS faculty and Director of the James Joo-Jin Kim Program for Korean Studies Eugene Park won the Association for Asian Studies (AAS) F. Hilary Conroy Award for his panel “Disability in Early Modern East Asia: Case Studies from China, Japan, and Korea, ca 1500-1870,” part of the upcoming AAS conference in Washington, D.C. in March 2018.  The award was recently initiated to honor Prof. F. Hilary Conroy, outstanding scholar of Japan, Northeast Asia and Asian American history at the University of Pennsylvania from 1951 to 1990. The award is intended to encourage proposals to the AAS of panel topics that are grounded in Northeast Asia but that are genuinely transnational and extend beyond one nation, and to help make possible the participation of more panelists from Asia or other parts of the world beyond North America.
