Ishak Caner was born in Turkey and immigrated to the U.S. at age 5. Growing up in northern New Jersey, he developed an appreciation for intercultural differences and cooperation. After his freshman year at Harvard, he participated in a summer exchange program in Korea, where he fell in love with the culture and completed two internships, including one at CJ E&M. He graduated with a citation in Korean alongside his degree in applied mathematics in economics.
Ishak is currently an MBA/MA dual degree candidate at the Wharton School and the Lauder Institute. He is completing his Lauder Capstone research project on the differences between Korean music successful overseas and that successful at home in Korea. He also continues to take Korean language classes as part of his mission to achieve advanced Korean language fluency in his time at the Lauder Institute.
