Event
The Center for East Asian Studies at the University of Pennsylvania presents a free screening of "5 Centimeters Per Second" as part of the Subaru Cherry Blossom Festival.
Directed and produced by acclaimed animator and director Makoto Shinkai (Your Name, Voices of a Distant Star), "5 Centimeters Per Second" tells the story of Tanaki and Akari, two elementary school friends. As their lives converge and diverge over time, distance, and the hazards of growing up, they struggle to keep in touch. When Takaki finds out he is moving further away, he decides to visit Akari one last time.
Shown in Japanese with English subtitles.
